Cardinal in Snow Storm

This Monday promises to be a snow day in more ways than one. Schools are already delayed 2 hours. Interstate 70 (east and west across America) is declared icy and hazardous. The wind is blowing and the 3 to 5 inches of snow we already got is blowing into drifts. It is hard, especially hard, for squirrels and other animals who have to walk from point A to point B to get something to eat. So, while I am not supposed to go outside, I did and pushed the snow shovel to clean off several inches of snow on the patio?I poured-out one can of sunflower chips and peanuts for anything that comes early this morning for something to eat. The birds will eat off the ground or snow if they can see the seeds. The bird feeder that seats at least 6 birds will be busy all day. And we will have to watch that it doesn't get empty. The water is still liquid in the large water bowl as it is heated by electricity. Patty will have to add more food when she gets up. It is 15º degrees F.
