Red Heads Have All The Fun

 
I never met a red head that I wanted to buy a drink for, and in those days, among my friends, I was known to drink now and then, and on weekends, and at the clubs the rest of the time ? Screwdrivers, they called them then, would take my legs out from under me every time I tried to stand up ? I spent a lot of time groveling around like some vagrant looking for his false teeth.

This is a male, with the red patch, Downy Woodpecker. His cousin, the Hairy Woodpecker, looks just like him except the cousin has a longer, stouter beak, and the fuzz between the beak and forehead, is thicker and more of it; and the Hairy Woodpecker is a little big bigger. They both peck holes in dead trees and have been known to work hard to make holes in vinyl siding that was manufactured to look like read wood. The Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers can?t tell the difference and peck holes in vinyl siding as well as wood siding.
