This is Kellers at the edge of Brookville, Ohio. Kellers stores grain for farmers and sells grain, seed, fertilizers and pet supplies of all kinds. Besides that they sell bird seed and some that they sell was seed that I asked them to get for me. Namely, sunflower seeds without the hulls ? now one of their biggest sellers as are peanuts without hulls ? raw peanuts without salt. They sell a lot of both types of seeds and suet cakes, bird houses, and dog houses. Right now we have switched from sunflower chips and pieces to safflower seeds that most of our birds will eat but the squirrels and starlings don't like it. The idea is to feed safflower seeds long enough until the starlings move somewhere else. During this period we feed the squirrels peanuts in the shell and on the window sills.

Brown Tree Creeper, originally uploaded by oldmanlincoln 2010.
Yesterday, after the feeder filled with Safflower seed was put up, I noticed up to 4 cardinals at a time were eating, followed by tufted titmice, downy woodpeckers, white-breasted nuthatches, red-breasted nuthatches, and red-bellied woodpeckers. I did not see any tree creepers like this one but they go mostly for meat in the form found on trees, just hiding under the edges of the bark.
